The smileys have come!

Hey all! I've skirted my duties of writing up the boring, generic rules post that everyone hates and ignores to bring you all of these cool smilies! (Well, at least they were better than what the forum software came with first. I mean, come on, half of THOSE were entirely useless.)

The rules are what I'm going to work on next, and then I may ask for suggestions on what to do for our Forum Portal (which is an somewhat useless page where who's online can be viewed, news in the Forum news forum scrolls by, a list of recently posted topics/posts marquees up the left side of the screen, etc.) Until then, y'all are perfectly free to post any comments/criticisms/objections/observations to pretty much anything I've covered in this news post.

Until then, I wish you all a great posting experience, and hope you get the most out of your hacking done while you're here.

No problem at all. Precisely why I made sure in the first place that no textual smileys would auto-change into graphical ones. Your taste is your own, so go ahead!

There seems to be a minor graphical problem with this smiley look at the bottom

It would be nice if you could change from :arrow: to :>: since ARS is everyone's friend unless it takes three years to rate something with 5 arrows.

No, I can't, because it places unnecessary spaces around them.

You mean the little green icon, correct? It shows up for me just fine... A problem on your end, perhaps?
