As most of you know I have been working on a hack lately. I'm gonna go ahead and post the progress chart from the m2k2 forums here as well. The main reason I am posting this, though, is to release the new SM: Desolation teaser! I tried to minimize the amount of spoilers, which is the reason it may seem kind of repetitive.

Progress Chart:

Level Design:

Area 1: Canyon (Crateria) 95% complete.
Area 2: Underground (Brinstar) 75% complete.
Area 3: Ice Cavern (Upper Norfair) 60% complete.
Area 4: The Reservoir (Maridia) 25% complete.
Area 5: Research Lab (Wrecked Ship) 55% complete.
Area 6: *Unknown (Tourian) 0% complete.
Area 7: *Unknown (Ceres Station) 0% complete.

*Still to be named.

Mapping:

Area 1: 50%
Area 2: 0%
Area 3: 0%
Area 4: 0%
Area 5: 0%
Area 6: 0%
Area 7: 0%

Other :

Power-up Sprite Changes: 20%
Enemy Palette Changes: 20%
Misc. Sprites: 50%
Samus Suit Palette Changes: 66%
Changes to game behavior: 50% (Beam power, and speeds. As well as missile and super missiles, and possible gravities.)
*New* ASM Changes: 50%

Project Release Date: This Spring (This will be set to an actual date whenever I get closer to being finished.)

If I think of anything else I'll be sure to list it.

I'm suprised there's no comments here yet, this is looking to be a very good hack. Your style seems to be very open and sparse, but still original.

A spring release is definately something to look forward to.

Thanks for the comment. I am trying to make the hack as open as possible, that way your never able to go anyway that is the wrong way. I want every way to be the right way. I keep a list of the way I think the items will be acquired based on the way I think most people would play the game, but I also make sure that you can sequence break here and there. Some items may be easy to do so, while others not so much... Smile. I really want to see people collect items in a completely unexpected way that I would have never thought of, and I want to see people able to complete super low percent TAS runs. Now if that will ever happen.....who knows. Sadly, though, I have been very busy with school work, which has caused me to miss about a WEEK of hacking, and is also the reason I haven't been on IRC much lately. I was originally hoping for a mid-spring release, but in order for it not to feel "rushed" I think it will be closer to the end of spring, but spring none the less. Big grin (Wow....I went way off-topic.)

This is looking great! I see you used the air lift thing, lol!

Although you really didn't need to say "new areas and new paths"... I thought that was kind of redundent...

Anyways, good luck to the future! And happy hacking!
