Re: Swine Flu.
Well, it's only been killing folks substantially around Mexico; symptoms/afflection have otherwise been pretty mild in people like any other flu. If millions start keeling over and dying all across the US, then I'll be scared shitless.
Re: Swine Flu.
Swine flu was the most likely cause for a severe epidemic back in WWI times. And the flu isn't what most people think it is; if you throw up, you don't have influenza, since it's a purely respiratory virus, and can be very deadly, especially in combination with other illnesses; even rhinovirus can kill you with influenza. Also, the influenza epidemic around 1919 was especially bad since its most affected age area was young adults instead of young children and old people, so if this is the same virus, it could be bad.
As for myself, I'm a bit surrounded by the virus here in Pittsburgh, with it already in Ohio, New York, Maryland, etc., and that was my information as of yesterday. So yes, I'm not liking my prospects, but at the same time, we have some of the best medical facilities in the world around here, so I really doubt it'll be all that bad.

Well, I think the medical field has come a long way since the early 1900's. More than likely we'll be okay even if this does happen to reach the state of a worldwide pandemic. Problem is, there are still people who think that closing the borders to Mexico during this whole ordeal is "wrong." Lol, we need to quarantine Mexico.

Replying to this topic with an awesome update: ZOMBIES! (Note the fail at the bottom, if taken the right way: "Have you been affected by the zombie strain of swine flu? You can send your experiences using the form below.")
All joking aside, no. I'm not particularly afraid of this coming one way or another.

On a lighter note. Here's a joke about swine flu.
"People always said that we would get a black President in the White House, only the day pigs fly. Well, 100 days after Obama's inauguration, swine flu." XD

Is win.
On a less win note, this morning on the news they said that there are no confirmed swine flu cases in Pennsylvania, much less Allegheny County, so it seems I'm safe for the time being.

Re: Swine Flu.
When I first heard of this new swine flu, of course I was a little worried. However, from what I've seen in the news, it is not at all as severe as what the experts make it sound. Luckily, I haven't heard of any cases of swine flu in my city, so we are safe for now....
Re: Swine Flu.
I was in a doctor's office the other day sitting next to a woman that ended up having swine flu. Great, right?

Re: Swine Flu.
Actually, it would be pretty bad if my school got closed down, considering that we would have to make up the days we were closed down.
