Enabling HTML in posts, sigs, etc.

Post by Zhs2 on Tue Mar 17, 2009 7:10 pm

I kinda wished I remembered what kind of benefits there were to HTML, but I've only worked with it for a school year or so, and I'm not totally sure what all of the downsides to it are (besides being able to enable Javascripts and other applets...) So, we ask you, the users... Would you prefer to have HTML enabled for posts and such? Or is it a terrible idea, and you'll never use it anyway? Of course, if it gets to be too much of a problem, we can just break all the existing HTML and go back to being BBCode-enhanced.

I don't really see any of the users here abusing/annoying people with it. I brought it up because I occasionally use it to format my posts when BBcode can't quite do what I want, and for hack release/discussion topics I'd definately like to spice up the first post where the progress bars and stuff are. I don't know how much use others might get out of it, but I don't really see any harm from it either.

I don't really care about HTML that much, since we already have BBC. Therefore, I see no reason for it ATM.

Well, it's been at 4-2 for quite a while, so I've enabled it as a test factor. Not that anyone would come here and post stuff otherwise since M2K2 exists, but whatever... ¬_¬

Uhh, what? It doesn't even look like you did it right. The forum counts one's sig and post as two different input boxes. Gotta put all of your code in either your sig or each and every individual post. Begin tags in the post and end tags in the sig do not work. For example:
